Those looking for further Hyrulian adventures in Tears of the Kingdom may be in for some disappointment. On September 6, Famitsu published an interview with both series producer Eiji Aonuma and Tears of the Kingdom Director Hidemaru Fujibayashi discussing just this and a whole lot more. Famitsu posed the following question to the two:
Famitsu: I would like to hear about your next project. Whether that be the next game or additional stories. There are so many possibilities.
Fujibayashi: I don’t know if it will be our next project (in the series), but I’m thinking about what the “next fun experience” will be. At the present time, I'm not sure what form that will take.”
Aonuma: There are currently no plans to release any DLC (for Tears of the Kingdom) because I feel that we’ve done all that we can with this world. The reason we decided to make this sequel was because we thought there were new ways to play that would be worth experiencing. If some kind of new reason comes about in the same way, we may go back to the same world. Whether it’s a sequel or a completely new game, I think there will be new methods of play and we hope you look forward to in the future.
