The Nintendo 64 app on the Switch is getting very different updates between the West and Japan. Again. Today, Friday, May 16 (Thursday, May 15 in some territories), fans in English speaking territories can check out Killer Instinct Gold on the service, while the Japanese audience is receiving Ridge Racer 64. You can see their respective trailers for the games below.
Oddly enough, both Killer Instinct Gold and Ridge Racer 64 never saw a release in Japan on the Nintendo 64 platform. While that will still hold true for KI, this is the first time that the N64 version of Ridge Racer has been made available here. Of course, Ridge Racer 64 was the previous release on the service in the West back in January, while Japan saw the first two Turok titles. For a full list of all of the titles that have hit the N64 app across the globe, complete with Japanese box art, check out our hub article here.
