A new free update offering two different difficulty modes for Metroid Dread were made available following today’s Nintendo Direct. “Dread Mode” is available for those who are looking for a challenge - taking one hit results in death. On the other end of the spectrum is a “Rookie Mode.” In this mode, boss attacks will deal out less damage and standard enemies will drop more health and recovery items.
On top of the two additional modes, more details will be provided when clearing the game, such as the total amount of damage taken, game overs, times saved and more. Additionally, the free demo for the game has been expanded and now offers the ability to play using the new Rookie Mode.
