Switch Game Vouchers to No Longer Be Sold After Jan. 2026

One of the best deals for purchasing first party titles on the Nintendo Switch is coming to a close in a matter of months. Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, known as Nintendo Catalog Tickets in Japan, will no longer be sold after January 30, 2026 (11:59 p.m. local times). This will go into effect in all regions where the vouchers are sold.

The standard usage conditions will not change. Any vouchers will be valid for one year from the purchase date to purchase two select Nintendo Switch titles. New Nintendo published titles will still be added to the service after the purchase of vouchers is no longer available.

For Japan, the Game Voucher program kicked off in May 2019 and has been a great deal for fans. Unlike most games release in English speaking territories, games release at various price points. For example, while Super Mario Odyssey can be picked up for ¥6,578, Astral Chain runs ¥8,778. Using the ¥9,980 voucher could offer significant savings for fans.

Did you ever make use of the vouchers yourself? Let us know in the comments!
