Basketball fans will be able to lace up their sneakers and take to the digital courts in a little under two months. NBA 2K26 is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam on Friday, September 5. This year, the “Gen 9” version of the game, the version that is on par with all of the modes found on PS5, Xbox Series and Steam, will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch, PS4 and Xbox One version of the game will have select modes and features missing as has been the case for the past few years.
Additionally, fans will not be able to get Early Access to the game via any of the premium or limited editions of the game. Cross-play will only be available on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S systems.
NBA 2K26 will retail for $69.99 (USD) on the Switch 2 and $59.99 on Switch 1. For more NBA 2K, be sure to check out our review of the Switch version of last year’s NBA 2K25 here or in the video below.
