Nintendo is teaming up with Baskin Robbins once more in Japan to deliver some tasty Mario themed treats to beat the summer heat. Dubbed the “Super Ice Cream Summer," his campaign kicks off on Tuesday, July 1 and runs until Thursday, July 31. On top of some delicious treats some freebies will also be available to shop goers. Even though this is the third campaign featuring Mario and his friends, there are a few different items on offer when compared to the past. You can find everything that is on offer below as well as links to the previous campaigns.
Super Mario Fruit Summer Sorbet
A brand new flavor themed after everyone’s favorite plumber is one of the highlights of the campaign this year. Featuring apple and rape sorbet with yellow bubble candy, this is a flavor specifically made for summer. Two double cups are available to choose from here as well as cone options.
Sundae
Two sundaes are on offer this year - a single scoop sundae with a question block cup or a double scoop sundae featuring Yoshi.
Luigi’s Cool Crush Soda
Created with fighting the summer heat in mind, this Luigi’s and Boo themed soda features a mix of muscat and apple syrup alongside a scoop of ice cream of your choice.
Toad’s House Ice Cream Set
The outside box sports a Toad House design and can be filled with eight cups of your favorite ice cream. Those that purchase this will also receive a special towel that can be used to cool down during the hot summer days. Included is a plastic case that can house a wet towel, too.
Variety Box
Just like the past few years, variety boxes of four, six, eight and twelve packs. Each cup can be filled with any flavor you like. Pricing starts at ¥1,360 (small, 4-pack) to ¥4,200 (Regular, 12 pack). in addition to this, the purchase of the six, eight and twelve packs will comes with extra cups of ice cream.
Ice Cream Cakes
Two types of ice cream cake are on sale this year - the Super Mario Six-Piece and Yoshi’s Colorful 31 Decoration Cake. New for this year with the Mario themed cake are Bowser and Boo. The Yoshi cake is completely new for this year and comes with a number of Yoshi themed decorations, chocolates and six scoops of ice cream of your choosing. The Mario cake sells for ¥4,000 while the Yoshi one goes for ¥4,800.
GPS Check-in
Nintendo fans visiting Baskin Robbins shops across the country can get a free sticker featuring Mario characters. This is done via the GPS Check function on the Japan only My Nintendo app. Four designs are available and will be handed out at random. Fans can make use of the check-in once per day to try to collect them all.
