Pikmin 4 Tetris 99 Maximus Cup Starts July 7

Pikmin loving Tetris fans are in luck. A Pikmin 4 themed Tetris 99 Maximus Cup is set to start on Friday, July 7 at 4:00 p.m. and run until Tuesday, July 11 (3:59 p.m.). Players that earn 100 points during the period will be able to take home a special Pikmin 4 theme. Just as with the past few Maximus Cups, the points system has been slightly altered to make it easier to take home the theme. In case you missed it, this new point system is as follows:

• 1st Place: 100 Points
• 2nd Place: 70 Points
• 3rd Place: 50 Points
• 4-10th Place: 40 Points
• 11-30th Place: 30 Points
• 31-50th Place: 20 Points
• 51-90th Place: 10 Point
• 91-99th Place: 1 Point

This marks the third Maximus Cup of 2023 and the 34th overall. The last event took place in April and featured Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. Pikmin 4 will launch later this month on July 21 worldwide. The addition of this Maximus Cup is just a part of the larger Pikmin marketing blitz that started today (July 4). Fans in Japan can check out a special Pikmin 4 lottery, special food and more at Family Mart convenience stores across Japan.
