Nintendo Switch Online members can look forward to more Maximus Cup competition in Tetris 99 this week. Starting on Friday, March 24 (4:00 p.m.) until Tuesday, March 28 (3:59 p.m.), gamers will be able to play the the Cup and try to take home a Fire Emblem: Engage theme. 100 points need to be earned during the period to claim the theme. Starting with this event, the point system will also be altered to give players more points than previous Cups, giving them an easier time to acquire the theme. Additionally, players can also pick up a Fire Emblem: Three Houses theme for 1 ticket (usually 30) during the play period. You can see the new point award system below.
- 1st Place: 100 Points
- 2nd Place: 70 Points
- 3rd Place: 50 Points
- 4-10th Place: 40 Points
- 11-30th Place: 30 Points
- 31-50th Place: 20 Points
- 51-90th Place: 10 Point
- 91-99th Place: 1 Point

This is the first Maximus Cup of 2023 and the 32nd overall. The last Maximus Cup took place in December 2022 and featured Kirby’s Dream Buffet.
