Joysound Karaoke for Wii U, a service that launched with the system in Japan on December 8, 2012, is coming to a close. Similar to the overall closure of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops, this will occur in phases. You can see the three phases and their respective dates below:
Tuesday, August 23, 2022, 1:30 p.m.
Removing ability to add balance
Tuesday, March 28, 2023, 9:00 a.m.
Removing ability to purchase song tickets
Friday, June 30, 2023, 10:00 a.m.
Complete closure of the service
As of June 27, 2022, Nintendo has limited the maximum amount of tickets to be purchased at one time to 90 days. Gamers looking to get their karaoke fix can still do so in Japan via the Joysound Karaoke for Nintendo Switch app, which has been available since late 2017.
