My Nintendo N64 Keychains | Showcase

Shortly after the release of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, Nintendo began offering some neat little Nintendo 64 related goodies for Platinum Points to My Nintendo members in Japan. For the price of shipping and the use of your otherwise mostly useless Platinum points, Nintendo offered these cool N64 box art themed keychains. Well, I placed an order for these things as soon as they went live and now they’re here. Let’s take a look.

Background
There are a total of eight N64 keychains here in the set, one for each of the games that launched at the start of the service here in Japan (Dr. Mario 64 is still missing from the service here and never saw a Japanese release). Here is what was on offer:
  • Super Mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Star Fox 64
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Winback
  • Mario Tennis 64
  • Sin & Punishment
Each of these could be had for 64 Platinum Points each, or 500 for the whole set. Just checking here recently, the set is completely sold out and most of the individual keychains are also unavailable.

Conclusion
If you’re an N64 fan like me, having some little knickknacks like this in your collection is definitely pretty cool. The little keychains replicate the box art very faithfully and are nicely done. I kind of wish these would just be for sale for real world cash so more people could get their hands on them. Let’s turn things over to you. What do you think of these N64 goodies? Are you in Japan and did you manage to pick some up? Sound of in the comments down below, we’d love to hear from you.
