Dragon Quest X Offline Announced for 2022

An offline stand-alone version of Dragon Quest X was unveiled during the May 27 Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary live stream event. Aptly titled Dragon Quest X Offline, Square Enix is looking to release the game in 2022 in Japan. This offline version of DQX features appears to feature all of the characters and story from the online version of the game, but in chibi form. The story will be based on version 1 of the game, known in English as Dragon Quest X: Awakening of the Five Tribes (Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku).

As it stands right now, there is no additional news about an English release of DQX Offline or any information about what platform or platforms the game will release on. You can check out the trailer for the game below. Dragon Quest X originally released on the Wii in August 2012. It has since seen releases on Wii U, PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, mobile, browsers and even a cloud version on the Nintendo 3DS
