The business days for Tokyo Game Show 2026 have officially wrapped up and the numbers are in. Over 100,000 attendees crammed into the Makuhari Messe convention hall on September 17 and 18. The numbers are pretty similar to last year, which were record setting for the non-public event days. Here’s how things break down with the 2026 attendance so far.
Thursday, September 17 | 53,630
Friday, September 18 | 52,545
TOTAL: 106,175
This places the two business days this year as number two and three all time when it comes to attendance. There are still three days left to go and barring anything crazy, the 2026 iteration of TGS should draw in the most attendees ever given the five day event. Even with that said, a typhoon is heading to Japan this weekend, so that will be something to look out for. If you would like a full look at Tokyo Game Show attendance numbers over the years, feel free to check out our article covering that very topic here.
