Monster Hunter is back in the mix on a Nintendo console. Monster Hunter Wilds is confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on Friday, December 4. Per Capcom,
“The acclaimed hunting action game comes to the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Venture into the Forbidden Lands to track and hunt massive monsters, craft gear and uncover the mysteries of an ever-changing world. Whether playing at home or on the go, hunters can team up locally via wireless play or join friends online with full cross-platform multiplayer support. All Title Update content is included, such as the Grand Hub, fan-favorite monsters like Mizutsune and Lagiacrus, the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online collaboration and more.”
The standard version of Wilds will retail for ¥4,990 / $39.99 and a Gold Edition of the game will also be available in Japan containing various DLC packs for ¥7,990. The Ascendance DLC is also scheduled to release on Nintendo’s console in 2027. You can see the Japanese and English language trailers for the game below.
In addition to the game, fans in Japan will also be able to pick up a special console bundle with a Japanese Language (Japan Only) Switch 2 console, a digital copy of Monster Hunter Wilds and three free months of Nintendo Switch Online. The console will release day and date with the game on December 4 and retail for ¥61,980. Pre-orders are currently up on the My Nintendo Store and are limited to one per customer. Just to be clear, the console itself does not feature any Monster Hunter designs - it’s a standard Japanese Switch 2. As it stands right now, this console bundle is exclusive to Japan.
