Nintendo isn’t done handing out free updates to Nintendo Switch titles. Today, Wednesday, September 2, the company released a free update for their smash hit Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. After updating and playing the game on the Nintendo Switch 2, players can now do the following:
- Eight Players on One System
- CameraPlay Support
- GameChat Support
- Enhanced Visuals
- Shorter Loading Times
The update to Mario Kart 8 on Switch 2 follows the update that was rolled out for Pikmin 3. The popularity of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch cannot be denied. The game has consistently been atop the sales charts and is Nintendo’s highest selling game with 71.53 million units sold as of June 30, 2026.
