The latest firmware update for the Nintendo Switch 2 brings a number of useful additions to the system, brining the system to version 22.0.0 as of Tuesday, March 17 (Japan). One of the most notable of these is “Handheld Boost Mode.” This will “cause compatible Switch software to run as if in TV mode.” Of course, this can come with some caveats as “certain functionality maybe be affected.” One easy example of this would be if a game supports touch input - this obviously would’t be possible if running in this mode.
Numerous other additions such as the ability to fast forward or rewind videos ten seconds in News or the eShop, the ability to save notes on your friend list, GameChat improvements and more were addressed in the update. You can read the full patch notes here.
