Bethesda’s epic adventure, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is out now on the Nintendo Switch 2 today, Wednesday, December 10 (for Japan). This updated version of the game includes the base game, the three expansions (Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire) and tons of Creation Club items. This new version brings several visual enhancements to the game including the following:
- Enhanced resolution and DSSL anti-aliasing
- Improved load times
- Optimized performance
- Mouse control support
- Motion controls
- Amiibo support
Zelda content will also be available in-game with the Master Sword, Hylian Shield and Champion’s Tunic included.
Skyrim launched on the Nintendo Switch in November 2017 (February 2018 for Japan). This was followed by Skyrim Anniversary Edition in late September 2022 on the platform. Owners of that version of the game can upgrade to the Switch 2 version at no additional charge. Upgrades from the base 2017 release run ¥2,200 / $19.99, while the stand alone version of Anniversary Edition on Switch 2 costs ¥7,260 / $59.99. You can see the latest trailer for the game below.
