One of Nintendo’s most popular Switch games is getting the Switch 2 treatment. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will release on Thursday, January 15, 2026 worldwide. This update to the game will bring improved resolution, mouse controls via the Joy Con 2 controller, up to 12-player online play sessions for Switch 2 users, camera support and more. For those that already own the game, an upgrade pack will be available for ¥550 / $4.99 (USD), while the game Switch 2 edition will retail for ¥7,128 / $64.99 (USD).
