If you’re in Japan and have missed out on your chance to get a Multi-Language Nintendo Switch 2, the third lottery is currently underway. Kicking off on Thursday, May 22 and running until Wednesday, May 28, Nintendo is continuing their lottery via the My Nintendo Store in Japan. Those that have entered and lost the second lottery earlier in the month are automatically entered into the third lottery. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 3 by email and/or notifications to Japanese My Nintendo accounts. Switch 2 systems from the third lottery will be scheduled to arrive by June 21.
For the Japanese market, Nintendo will sell Japanese language locked Switch 2 systems presumably in an attempt to prevent scalpers and re-sellers from moving units away from the Japanese market. The only way for fans to get their hands on a non-language locked system is through the Multi-Language system on the My Nintendo Store. While the Japanese only version is a somewhat reasonable ¥49,980, the region free version runs for ¥69,980. For more on the language locking, be sure to check out our article here or the video below.
