Dragon Quest II and III “Paper Theaters” are now available for pre-order in Japan on the Square Enix e-Store. They are set to release on October 30 and retail for ¥2,750 (roughly $25 USD). These paper craft “theaters” feature key art from Dragon Quest II and III Famicom carts and appear somewhat “3D” thanks to superimposing several layers of precision laser cut paper on top of each other. You can see images of the theater "sheets" below to get an idea of what it would take to put everything together.
A paper theater for the original Dragon Quest is available now on the Square Enix e-Store. The paper theaters along with a number of other collectibles were unveiled back in late May during a Dragon Quest 35th anniversary event. Currently, these items are limited to Japan. You can see all three paper theaters below.
