A new 2D Metroid made an appearance at the September 9 Nintendo Direct and it’s coming out very soon. Titled Metroid Ravenous, this new entry into the series see Samus using a mysterious power to absorb enemies. Gameplay looks akin to what was found in 2021’s Metroid Dread, featuring the parry system that was found in that game. Ravenous is set to release on Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, January 28, 2027. In addition to the base game, a Special Edition for the game containing a copy of the game, a steel box and a special amiibo. You can see the pricing on this set and the standard version of the game below.
