The next entry in the NBA 2K series is on the horizon and while details may be sparse, we now know when to expect the game. NBA 2K27 will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam on Friday, September 4. This year’s release will be the first time since 2017 that the series hasn’t made an appearance on the Nintendo Switch 1. Additionally, “Gen 8” consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will also not receive versions of the game either. Pre-orders are not yet available on Nintendo’s platform. Although fans playing on other consoles can opt to pick up the Deluxe or Ultra Editions (and 7 day early access), the Switch 2 version is limited to just the standard edition of the game. Cover athletes this year are Victor Wembanyama on the standard edition, Caitlyn Clark for the Deluxe Edition and Derrick Rose for the Ultra Edition.
