It’s been quite awhile, but Nintendo is finally delivering a new smartphone game to fans. Pictonico! is set to hit iOS and Android on Thursday, May 28 worldwide. The game will be free to start with three free mini-games, but also has two packs available for purchase, Game Pack Vol. 1 (50 games) for ¥800 and Game Pack Vol. 2 (30 games) for ¥600. Pictonico takes photos from your device (with your permission) and implements them into a variety of mini-games in a WarioWare-like fashion. 80 mini-games in total will be available in “lots of ways to play.” You can see the Japanese trailer for the game below (there currently isn’t an English version available as of the time of this writing):
Pictonico is co-developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. A few other notes from the official website of the game confirm that your photos are not sent to Nintendo. Additionally, the purchase of a Game Pack is required for gameplay, but you can play a demo of “some” mini-games for free. A constant online connection isn’t required unless you first launch the game or are purchasing Game Packs. You can see some more screenshots of the game below.
