As was revealed during a flurry of Mario Day announcements, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 will be the next game featured in the Tetris 99 Maximus Cup. The collaboration kicks off on Friday, April 3 at 4:00 p.m. Japan Time and will run until Tuesday, April 7 at 3:59 p.m. You can see a screenshot for the new in-game theme and trailer below.
This Mario Galaxy themed Maximus Cup is the 52nd since the Cup started and the second cup of 2026. The first even took place back in January and featured Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. You can read more about that here.
