The latest Nintendo financial report is full of numerous interesting developments. Per the financial report which was shared today, Tuesday, February 3, the Nintendo Switch has now surpassed the Nintendo DS to become the highest selling Nintendo platform of all time. Not only that, but the Nintendo Switch 2 is the fastest selling Nintendo hardware of all time with 17.7 million units sold from its launch in June 2025 to December 31, 2025. This surpasses the lifetime sales of the Wii U which sits at 13.56 million units sold.
Switch 2 software sales have been led by Mario Kart World which has now sold 14.03 million units, followed by Donkey Kong Bananza at 4.25 million and Pokémon Legends Z-A at 3.89. Metroid Prime 4 was not mentioned in the sales numbers which indicates it has not sold over one million units on either the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2.
