It’s been a long road, but fans in Japan are finally about to order a Nintendo Switch 2 from Nintendo’s online store without entering a raffle. Starting in the afternoon of Friday, February 6, the Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System and Multi-Langauge System will go on sale on a first come, first served basis. A handful of requirements still remain. Those looking to purchase the console must have played 50 hours of games on the Switch with a My Nintendo account as of December 21, 2025 (11:59 p.m.), excluding demos and free software. The offer is only available to those who have their Country/Region set to Japan. An active Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Additionally, interested parties may not purchase a version of the console that they have already won via lottery on the My Nintendo Store.
Although the Nintendo Switch 2 is relatively easy to come by outside of country, players in Japan have only been able to go through Nintendo’s lottery process to procure a region free system.
