Rockstar has a bit of an early holiday surprise for fans. Red Dead Redemption is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, Android, Xbox Series S | X, PlayStation 5 and Netflix on Tuesday, December 2. While pricing has not been revealed just yet, fans that own the game on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade the game to the next iteration of hardware for free. Fans playing on Xbox Series systems and PlayStation 5 can look forward to 60 fps gameplay, better image quality, HDR and resolutions up to 4K. With the Switch 2 version, Rockstar has “taken full advantage of this new hardware with support for DLSS, HDR, mouse support and the same fluid 60 frames per second gameplay at high resolution.
In addition to the visual enhancements, those that own the game on the Switch or PS4 can utilize previous save data and continue their journey in the old west. Development has been handled by Double Eleven (responsible for the Switch 1 port of the game) and Cast Iron Games.
