Square Enix has announced a partnership with Google to utilize Gemini in Dragon Quest X Online. The functionality would enable players to communicate with the company’s own iteration of Gemini named Oshaberi (Chatty) Slimy. Chatty Slimy would work as an AI companion for players. that respond using AI generated text and voice. It analyzes and recognizes on-screen information, and can also comment on outfit changes, talk about a strong enemy that has just been defeated or when a rare item is obtained. A beta test for Chatty Slimy is currently being planned with participants being recruited until March 30.
Dragon Quest X Online originally released on the Wii back in 2012. It has since made its way to many platforms, including the Nintendo 3DS via the cloud, Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
