Nintendo fans across the globe were puzzled on Tuesday, October 7 when the company released an animated short titled, “Close to You,” on Nintendo Today and various social media platforms. The video, which offers no explanation or concrete hints at what this is, follows a baby after its mother leaves the room. The child’s pacifier is whisked around the room while the baby attempts to capture it. You can see the video for yourself below.
Several theories have already started popping up online, including ones on this being Pikmin related (which cannot be seen by the human eye) or this being some kind of a tie-in for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie showing off a baby Rosalina. Time will tell.
UPDATE
Nintendo released an updated version of the video on Nintendo Today revealing now visible Pikmin as the culprits to all of the mischief.
