The Famicast @ Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2025 Preview

Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2025 is coming to Tokyo on Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9! We will be in attendance this year for the first time and are looking forward to checking out the event. Not only that, but we have the honor and privilege of attending the event as an official media partner! Just as with other events that we attend, we are looking to bring you some coverage of some of the awesome games being shown off and also give you a look at the event overall.

The event isn’t just about playing games, either. It serves as a space for game creators to find the support that they need with plenty of opportunities to reach out. Not only this, but TIGS also has several events geared toward families and kids, a stamp rally TIGS merch and more. If you’re interested in going and supporting the event, check out the TIGS official website here for details on tickets. And, hey, even if you can’t make the event live, you can check out the Tokyo Indie Games Summit official YouTube page for streams from the event here.

Highlighted Games
As it stands right now, there are a ton of indie titles that will be at the show with well over 100 that will be playable on the floor. While it’s probably impossible to check out everything, here are a few titles we’re interested in checking out:
Cassette Boy
Platforms: Switch, Steam, PlayStation 5
Genre: Action Adventure
Release: 2025

From Publisher
Cassette Boy looks like a 2D game, but its world is actually 3D.
In order to solve its puzzles, you will have to turn and twist the map around, changing the perspective. Things that you can't see from your perspective, for example because they're hidden behind a wall, stop existing—this is called the "Schrödinger system.” Hide obstacles out of sight and out of mind or reveal secret passages to advance through the game. Of course, solving puzzles won't be enough. You'll have to pick up weapons and face monsters and bosses as well. Enemies, puzzles, and more await you in this mysterious world!
Unko Technica
Platforms: Steam
Release: 2025

From Publisher
Enjoy the retro neon style graphics and cool sounds of this stylish UNKO action game as you guide the automatically running UNKO to the goal of the toilet by making it jump.

●The game features more than 150 stages, all of which can be conquered with your brilliant UNKO-slithering skills.
●Use the UN-COIN collected in stages to unlock items to customize your UNKO appearance and unlock stages with higher difficulty levels.
Mini Golf Simulator
Platforms: Switch
Release: December 19,2024 (out now)

From Publisher
A new style of mini golf game where you swing with the Joy-Con hanging down!

A game that can be played by up to four players and faithfully reproduces the putter!

Swing the Joy-Con well to get the cup in!
inKonbini: One Store. Many Stories
Platforms: Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Steam
Release: TBA

From Publisher
inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is a third-person single-player simulation game centered around a small-town convenience store in the early 1990s. Shelve goods, engage in meaningful conversations with your customers, and see how choices you make impact their lives!
Shojing
Platforms: Steam
Release: 2025

From Publisher
"SHOJING" is a casual game where you control a cat and break a shoji screen. It's a cat, so it's just about permissible, but humans should never try to imitate this.

This is just a small taste of what will be on the show floor at TIGS this year. Like mentioned above, there will be over 100 titles to try at the show. If you’re in the area on Sunday, March 9, entry to the venue is ¥1,000 and there looks like there is something for everyone.
