Nintendo’s upcoming in-person event, Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo has been canceled due to persistent threats to Nintendo employees and participants in Splatoon 3 Koshien 2023 National Championships. As a result and for the safety of all involved, Nintendo has postponed that tournament as well as currently announced tournaments that were scheduled to take place at Nintendo Live 2024. Below, you can find a list of the postponed tournaments:
- Splatoon 3 Koshien 2023 National Championships
- Splatoon 3 World Championship 2024
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Online Challenge Finals
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championships 2024
Nintendo encourages fans to keep an eye on their social media accounts for announcements regarding new dates for the tournaments.
Nintendo Live 2024 was set to take place in Tokyo on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21, hosting tournaments, stages shows and two live concerts (Zelda and Splatoon). There is no word as to if or when the event will be rescheduled. The lottery for the event just closed yesterday (December 6).
