The Nico Nico video app on the Nintendo 3DS will be shutting down on March 31, 2023. Starting on Monday, September 12, 2022, users will no longer be able to purchase Premium Tickets on the platform but will still have access to the app. A Premium membership gives users access to additional content and features that work on smartphones, tablets and web browsers.
Nico Nico debuted on the Japanese Nintendo 3DS eShop on February 14, 2014. A version of the app has been available on the Nintendo Switch since December 2017.
