Live A Live Coming to Switch, Collector’s Edition Announced

Live A Live, one of the great 16-bit RPGs from the Super Famicom era, is getting an HD-2D release on the Nintendo Switch worldwide. The game is set to release on Nintendo’s home console on Friday, July 22 and will retail for ¥7,480 (physical and digital). Not only that, but Square Enix has also opted to release a special Live A Live Collector’s Edition in Japan. Retailing for ¥22,000 ($190 USD) and available exclusively through the Square Enix e-Store, the Collector’s Edition includes:
  • Physical copy of the game
  • “Tin-Plated Great King” plastic model kit
  • Live A Live HD-2D Remake Board Game
  • Live A Live HD-2D Remake/Original Soundtrack with booklet
  • Enamel Live A Live tote bag
If you're hoping to pick up the Collector's Edition but don't speak Japanese, you're in luck. The Japanese release of Live A Live offers English support. You can see some more images of the included items in the gallery below.

Originally released on the Super Famicom in September 1994, Live A Live puts players in the role of several different characters across a number of locations and gameplay styles. Live A Live released on the Wii U Virtual Console in June 2015 followed by a release on the 3DS Virtual Console in November 2016.
