Japanese Localization Added to Star Wars KOTOR in Latest Patch

The release of the latest patch for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (version 1.02) on the Nintendo Switch is a good reason for gamers in Japan to be excited. On top of a number of bug fixes and the addition of cheats, a Japanese localization has been added to the game. Knights of the Old Republic has never seen a Japanese release, so this patch marks the first official way for gamers to play the game with a Japanese localization. As of right now, the game is not listed on the Japanese Switch eShop, so interested Japanese gamers have to make the purchase via a non-Japanese account.

On top of the addition of the Japanese localization via the patch, the following are also included:
  • The size of the combat message box has been reduced.
  • Addressed a crash that occurred when opening a lockbox on Taris in Spanish.
  • Addressed an issue where incorrect button icons would appear in some tutorial prompts.
  • Addressed an issue where certain NPC voice lines were absent in gameplay
  • Addressed an issue where the lightsaber icons for the Heart of the Guardian and the Mantle of the Force crystals didn’t match the blade colors.
  • Addressed an issue where the colors for the full alignment icons are swapped.
  • A number of cheats have been added to the game (these can be accessed by clicking in the left joystick three times).
